In the last twenty years visual artists have rediscovered bookmaking arts. By manipulating the format, content, and page, artists are changing the way we experience the book. This new vision has been a means for artists to explore narrative and structure in the form of simple flip books and collaged layers, to odd sizes and materials. The book has become a truly experimental alternative to the more traditional arts, and offers artists a unique mode to reinterpret their work.
