Check out digital and analog prints by our own Ian Fabre at The Mertes Center for the Arts, Las Positas College, 3033 Collier Canyon Road, Livermore, CA 94551.

From graffiti artist to graphic designer, Ian Gerard Fabre pulls from every experience thus far. Graduating from the California College of the Arts with an interdisciplinary degree he employs anything and everything. From neon signage to screen printing Ian pokes at the underlying issues within contemporary consumer culture. As of late his work is installation based and in it one can find sculpture, two-dimensional work, and video. His practice is his way of slowing down and reflecting as he encourages you to do the same.

Fields of Prayer

nighthouseStarting November 7, Grace Cathedral will be the setting for a spectacular light and sound installation presented by its 2015 Artists in Residence, Elaine Buckholtz and Floor van de Velde. Their creation, “Fields of Prayer,” uses the stunning environment of the landmark cathedral, both indoor and outdoor, to immerse viewers in a unique sensory art experience.

In celebration of the Year of Technology at Grace Cathedral, Elaine and Floor will be exploring the medium of light and sound as ephemeral phenomena with the potential to unmask hidden aspects of architectural forms and to activate space.

“Fields of Prayer” runs November 7 through 17. Full list of events here.
